Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.85% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.83% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.7% in June 2021, a 19.4% drop over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 19.57% share, an increase of 260% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 15.22%, registering a 133.33% rise from May 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.7%, down 27.27% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 47.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada travel & tourism industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
WestJet Airlines posted 21 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 31.25% over the previous month, followed by Flight Centre Travel Group with 11 jobs and a 37.5% growth. Air Canada with 9 IT jobs and International Game Technology with 9 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 28.57% increase, respectively, while Cineplex recorded a flat growth with 9 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.57%, down by 20% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.74% share, a growth of 185.71% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.7% share, up 100% over May 2021.
