Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 17% share of the global travel and tourism industry’s corporate governance-related total new job postings in Q3 2023, down 15% over the prior quarter.

Management Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 17%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 15% quarter-on-quarter. Office and Administrative Support Occupations came in second with a share of 13% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 9% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent corporate governance roles include Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 6% share in Q3 2023, Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 43% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Hilton Grand Vacations, Hilton Worldwide, American Airlines Group, Accor, and Star Entertainment Group. Together they accounted for a combined share of 43% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Hilton Grand Vacations posted 616 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Hilton Worldwide 301 jobs, American Airlines Group 279 jobs, Accor 230 jobs, and Star Entertainment Group 209 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 63.23% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023

The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 63.23% followed by Australia (6.38%) and Canada (3.60%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points lower than the 67.28% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
