Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 16% share of the global travel and tourism industry’s corporate governance-related total new job postings in Q2 2023, down 39% over the prior quarter.

Management Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 16%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q2 2023, with new job postings drop by 39% quarter-on-quarter. Office and Administrative Support Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q2 2023, with new job postings dropping by 19% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent corporate governance roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with an 8% share in Q2 2023, Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 47% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2023 were Hilton Grand Vacations, American Airlines Group, Hilton Worldwide, Shangri-La Asia, and Marriott International. Together they accounted for a combined share of 47% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Hilton Grand Vacations posted 714 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q2 2023, American Airlines Group 346 jobs, Hilton Worldwide 333 jobs, Shangri-La Asia 248 jobs, and Marriott International 170 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 68.97% share of total new job postings, Q2 2023

The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q2 2023 was in the US with 68.97% followed by Canada (3.72%) and India (2.76%). The share represented by the US was eight percentage points higher than the 61.23% share it accounted for in Q1 2023.
