Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 19% share of the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism industry’s total new job postings in Q3 2023, drop 39% over the prior quarter.

Management Occupations drive travel and tourism industry hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 19% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism industry in Q3 2023 , ahead of Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 14% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 9% share in Q3 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 5% share and Personal Care and Service Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 69% of hiring activity

Marriott International posted 6,110 jobs in Q3 2023 and registered a decline of 63% over the previous quarter, followed by Accor with 3,948 jobs and a 113% growth. Shangri-La Asia, with 2,010 jobs, and InterContinental Hotels Group, with 1,408 jobs, recorded a 43% drop and a 20% drop, respectively, while Hilton Worldwide recorded a 294% increase with a 1,122 new job postings during Q3 2023.

China held the leading share of the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism hiring activity with a 20.39% share, a 56% decrease over Q2 2023. India was next with 19.74%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
