Office and Administrative Support Occupations, with a share of 15% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European travel and tourism industry in Q4 2023 , ahead of Management Occupations with a 12% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 10% share in Q4 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 5% share and Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 55% of hiring activity

Deutsche Bahn posted 4,819 jobs in Q4 2023 and registered a decline of 56% over the previous quarter, followed by Whitbread with 2,951 jobs and a 113% growth. Marriott International, with 2,950 jobs, and Deutsche Lufthansa, with 2,418 jobs, recorded a 220% rise and a 100% rise, respectively, while Accor recorded a 49% decline with a 1,063 new job postings during Q4 2023.

Germany held the leading share of the European travel and tourism hiring activity with a 33.18% share, a 37% decrease over Q3 2023. the UK was next with 32.48%, four-percentage-point up over the previous quarter.
