June 2021 has seen an increase of 20.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 40.3% in June 2021, a 17.39% growth over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 25.37% in June 2021, marking a 750% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.93% in June 2021, a 100% growth from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 177.78% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Qatar Airways Group QCSC posted 30 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 2900% over the previous month, followed by Uber Technologies with 11 jobs and an 8.33% drop. Marriott International with 3 IT jobs and DSV Panalpina with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a 50% increase, respectively, while Minor International recorded a 200% an increase with 3 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
Qatar commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 46.27% share in June 2021, a 1450% rise over May 2021. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 25.37% share, up 41.67% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 5.97% share, a drop of 55.56% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.22%, up by 42.31% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 35.82% share, a growth of 242.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.96% share, down 25% over May 2021.
