US-based company American Express Global Business Travel’s IT hiring rose 9.8% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.92% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 13.07% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 1.79% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops American Express Global Business Travel IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by American Express Global Business Travel, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 52.27% in August 2022, and a 53.33% rise over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 27.27% in August 2022, and registered growth of 300%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.09% in August 2022, a flat growth from July 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at American Express Global Business Travel

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 47.73% share, which marked a 90.91% rise over the previous month.

North America stood next with 43.18%, registering a 35.71% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 9.09% share and a 50% drop over July 2022.

France commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 40.91% share in August 2022, a 200% growth over July 2022. US featured next with a 27.27% share, up 20% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 15.91% share, an increase of 600% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead American Express Global Business Travel IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.45%, up by 55% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.27% share, a growth of 71.43% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.27% share, down 83.33% over July 2022.
