The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.62% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.7% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.36% in October 2022, registering a 15.79% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 27.27% share, an increase of 140% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 20.45%, registering an 18.18% decline from September 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.09%, down 20% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 3.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s travel & tourism industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Flight Centre Travel Group posted 14 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Qantas Airways with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Virgin Australia Holdings with 4 IT jobs and Walt Disney with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Queensland Rail recorded a decline of 62.5% with 3 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.18%, flat growth from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.45% share, registered an increase of 80% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.36% share, down 37.5% over September 2022.
