Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 55.65% in August 2022, a 21.04% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.71% in August 2022, marking a 41% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.69% in August 2022, a 21.69% rise from July 2022.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.02% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Bally’s posted 138 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 220.93% over the previous month, followed by Deutsche Bahn with 72 jobs and a 7.69% drop. Deutsche Lufthansa with 64 IT jobs and A.P. Moller – Maersk with 62 jobs, recorded a 47.54% drop and a 6.9% rise, respectively, while NS Groep recorded a 108% increase with 52 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 36.06% share in August 2022, a 99.31% increase over July 2022. Germany featured next with a 21.98% share, down 13.37% over the previous month. Netherlands recorded a 6.91% share, a growth of 103.7% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.86%, up by 21.59% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.96% share, registered a growth of 45.16% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.55% share, down 1.3% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.63%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
