Germany’s travel & tourism industry registered a 0.6% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.51% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.92% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.95% in November 2021, registering a 10.83% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 20.35% share, an increase of 43.75% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.06%, registering a 39.02% decline from October 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.75%, up 85.71% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Deutsche Bahn posted 60 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 9.09% over the previous month, followed by Schenker Deutschland with 44 jobs and a 62.96% growth. Deutsche Lufthansa with 43 IT jobs and FlixMobility with 22 jobs, recorded a 2.27% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while TUI recorded a decline of 16.67% with 10 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.57%, down by 8.38% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 15.93% share, registered an increase of 44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 11.06% share, down 28.57% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.44%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
