India’s travel & tourism industry registered a 12.2% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.43% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.59% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.72% in November 2022, registering a 19.64% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 11.28% share, an increase of 46.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.77%, registering a 38.24% decline from October 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 7.69%, down 44.44% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.16% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 94 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 46.88% over the previous month, followed by Uber Technologies with 23 jobs and a 64.29% growth. Expedia Group with 19 IT jobs and Walt Disney with 13 jobs, recorded a 46.15% growth and a 64.86% decrease, respectively, while Capital A recorded an increase of 500% with 6 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.15%, up by 24.04% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.67% share, registered a decline of 10.34% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.18% share, down 50% over October 2022.
