November 2022 has seen a decrease of 8.91% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering an increase of 0.57% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 51.43% in November 2022, a 16.13% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20% in November 2022, marking a 12.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.43% in November 2022, a 300% rise from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 53.85% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during November 2022 over previous month.

Columbia Hospitality posted 18 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Meyer Jabara Hotels with 18 jobs and a flat growth. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 10 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 7 jobs, recorded a 66.67% rise and a 58.82% drop, respectively, while Emirates Group recorded a 56.25% decline with 7 job postings during November 2022.

Mauritius commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 51.43% share in November 2022, a flat growth over October 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 15.71% share, down 38.89% over the previous month. Morocco recorded an 8.57% share, a flat growth compared with October 2022.

Entry Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Entry Level jobs held a share of 40%, up by 600% from October 2022. Junior Level positions with a 40% share, registered a decline of 28.21% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 20% share, up 27.27% over October 2022.
