Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 47.57% in August 2022, a 1.16% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 28.08% in August 2022, marking a 7.29% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.15% in August 2022, an 18.56% rise from July 2022.

Top five travel & tourism companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 7.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during August 2022 over previous month.
The Walt Disney posted 276 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 21.14% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 71 jobs and a 29% drop. Marriott International with 69 IT jobs and Enterprise Holdings with 68 jobs, recorded an 11.29% rise and an 183.33% rise, respectively, while Delta Air Lines recorded a 21.43% increase with 51 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 91.81% share in August 2022, a 1.85% increase over July 2022. Canada featured next with a 7.16% share, up 11.11% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.03% share, a growth of 62.5% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.34%, down by 1.03% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.05% share, registered a growth of 21% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.54% share, down 9.38% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.08%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
