November 2022 has seen a decrease of 11.65% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.54% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.13% in November 2022, a 3.35% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 26.7% in November 2022, marking a 31.98% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.19% in November 2022, a 22.22% drop from October 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 8.19% in November 2022, a 25.96% decline over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 82.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during November 2022 over previous month.

Walt Disney posted 137 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 21.71% over the previous month, followed by BCD Travel Services with 86 jobs and a 1620% growth. Columbia Hospitality with 82 IT jobs and Meyer Jabara Hotels with 81 jobs, recorded a 2633.33% rise and an 8000% rise, respectively, while Marriott International recorded a 5.26% decline with 54 job postings during November 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with an 85.64% share in November 2022, a 21% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 13.83% share, up 15.04% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.53% share, a drop of 61.54% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.57%, down by 23.08% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.7% share, registered a decline of 11.62% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.72% share, up 3.2% over October 2022.
