US-based company Uber Technologies IT hiring declined 7.0% in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.37% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 17.25% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 6.61% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Uber Technologies IT hiring in October 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Uber Technologies, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 82.35% in October 2022, and a 9.8% rise over September 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 8.82% in October 2022, and registered a decline of 45.45%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.41% in October 2022, a 25% drop from September 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Uber Technologies

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 33.82% share, which marked a 17.86% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 29.41%, registering a 35.48% month-on-month decline. Middle East & Africa was the third leading region with a 25% share and an 88.89% rise over September 2022.

In the fourth place was Europe with a share of 11.76% and a month-on-month increase of 33.33%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 26.47% share in October 2022, a 41.94% decline over September 2022. India featured next with a 20.59% share, down 6.67% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 13.24% share, an increase of 50% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Uber Technologies IT hiring activity in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.47%, flat growth from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 10.29% share, a decline of 41.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.82% share, down 45.45% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 4.41%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
