The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.69% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.5% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s travel & tourism industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41.53% in October 2022, registering a 35.78% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 32.51% share, a decrease of 10.84% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.5%, registering a 24% rise from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.58%, down 11.63% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 15.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s travel & tourism industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Walt Disney posted 164 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 74 jobs and a 3.9% drop. Marriott International with 57 IT jobs and National Railroad Passenger with 41 jobs, recorded a 10.94% decline and a 10.87% decrease, respectively, while Delta Air Lines recorded an increase of 185.71% with 40 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.71%, down by 24.54% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.07% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.43% share, down 30% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.79%, recording a month-on-month increase of 600%.
