Two additional properties in Hungary and the Czech Republic are also expected to be added.
Corinthia Group CEO Simon Naudi said: “We are very pleased to announce this strategic relationship with Accor.
“While our focus on the global growth of the Corinthia brand remains undiminished and entirely independent, the development of our second brand, Verdi, will now benefit from Accor’s extensive global marketing reach and the strength of its Handwritten Collection.”
IHI launched Verdi Hotels in 2024 as an upscale management platform separate from the luxury-focused Corinthia hotel brand.
The agreement will provide Verdi Hotels with access to Accor’s global distribution, marketing, and loyalty programmes.
The first five additions include three Maltese properties: Verdi Gżira Promenade on the Marsamxett Harbour waterfront; Verdi St George’s Bay Marina in St Julian’s; and Verdi Dragonara, formerly the Vivaldi Hotel.
Verdi Santarém, Portugal and Verdi Tunis Beach Resort will also join the collection.
Accor Europe and North Africa premium, midscale and economy brand chief development officer Philippe Bijaoui said: “This strategic partnership with Verdi Hotels marks an important step in our continued growth ambition.
“By combining the strength of Verdi Hotels’ management platform with Accor’s distribution, loyalty and brand ecosystem, we aim to unlock new opportunities, accelerate growth and create sustainable value for both parties.”
Launched by Accor in 2023, Handwritten Collection brings together independent hotels with distinct identities. The brand currently has more than 50 hotels in 22 countries with a development pipeline of 58 properties worldwide.
