It will include four dining venues and 3,000m² of event space. The resort will also feature a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool and a kids’ club.
According to Accor, demand for luxury hospitality in the Shivpuri–Rishikesh region has been rising. The company said the Fairmont-branded resort will “fill the gap” of branded luxury resorts in the region.
Accor South Asia CEO Ranju Alex said: “Another significant turning point in the strategic growth of the Fairmont brand in India is the signing of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas. One of the most alluring luxury travel locations in the nation is Rishikesh, where spirituality, wellness, and immersive travel come together.
“This initiative demonstrates our dedication to providing outstanding hospitality to locations that provide genuine and significant experiences while bolstering our premium portfolio throughout the area.”
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is one of Accor’s luxury brands, with a portfolio that includes The Plaza in New York City, The Savoy in London, Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai and Fairmont Royal Palm in Marrakech.
In India, Fairmont operates Fairmont Jaipur while projects have been announced for Mumbai and Udaipur. Further Fairmont openings are planned in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra.
Commenting on the partnership, Javi Home director Vibhor Jain said: “We are thrilled to partner with Accor to introduce the Fairmont brand to Rishikesh.
“The location has enormous long-term potential, and we think Fairmont’s tradition of providing opulent hospitality is a wonderful fit with the area’s natural beauty, spiritual past, and increasing attractiveness to discerning tourists.”
