The hotel connects to the airport via a fully enclosed walkway, marking Germain Hotels’ third property in the province and its third airport hotel in the country.

The new facility contains 178 guest rooms and includes amenities such as ergonomic workspaces, two meeting rooms covering 1,000ft², and an all-hours fitness centre.
Guests can access their rooms directly from the airport regardless of weather conditions, targeting those in transit, business travellers, and visitors planning an extended stay in Ottawa.
Several rooms provide views of the runway while the ground floor features dining and meeting areas.
The property also houses the third local branch of Sosta! Pizzeria, which offers a menu covering breakfast through late-night options and features items sourced from local partners.
Guest rooms include Canadian-made beds and Bella Pella bath products while the lobby lighting is made from recycled materials.
Germain Hotels states that sustainability principles have guided the choices made in the hotel’s development.
Germain Hotels co-president Hugo Germain said: “Opening our 20th hotel is a significant milestone, but more importantly, it captures the very essence of Alt Hotels: a welcoming, convenient stop in a great location, offering the services travellers really want.”
Ottawa International Airport president and CEO Susan Margles said: “We are proud to welcome Alt Hotel Ottawa Airport to the heart of YOW and especially pleased that a Canadian company continues to invest in the nation’s capital as part of its growth.”
In May 2025, Germain Hotels secured a C$160m investment, with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) acting as the lead investor.
