The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation (BMOTIA) has continued its global sales and marketing “Bringing the Bahamas to You” missions with events throughout California.

The Honourable I Chester Cooper, Bahamian deputy prime minister and minister of tourism, investments and aviation, led a delegation of senior tourism officials to meet stakeholders and media across the tourism industry.

Events were hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles Beverly Hills, the Viceroy Santa Monica and the Westin South Coast Plaza in Cosa Mesa.

The delegation also met leaders and industry partners from Californian business, cinema, arts and culture, and sports markets, including the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, Amazon Film, Netflix and the Los Angeles Lakers.

A live Q&A panel highlighted the Bahamas’ tourism numbers and its plans for future growth and innovation in the sector.

The Bahamian deputy prime minister commented: “We’ve always had a fondness for and a connection with California and we wanted to further this relationship and grow tourism in this marketplace. We want to use Los Angeles International Airport as a gateway to the Pacific Coast and a gateway to Asia, creating multi-destination travel. This is an important prospect for Bahamas tourism.”
