Its development pipeline could increase the total to nearly 2,000 rooms, subject to construction progress and planned opening dates.

One of the projects is Kingsbury in Udaipur, India, a 241-room hotel that will be owned by Black Rock.

The property is scheduled to start operations in March 2027 with around 160 rooms.

According to ET, Kingsbury is being developed for destination weddings, conferences and large social gatherings.

The hotel will include ballrooms, alongside a courtyard and a pool deck, rooftop event space, three lakeside venues and five gardens.

Black Rock has also signed two hotels in Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand.

The properties will have 115 rooms and 135 rooms, respectively, and both have indicative opening dates of October 2027.

A further project in Vrindavan will give the company a presence in Uttar Pradesh.

Black Rock Hotels & Resorts founder and chairman Anshul Bhargava said the company had built its business around operating hotels where weddings, conferences and leisure contribute substantially to revenue.

Bhargava commented: “Our next phase is about taking that experience into new markets while also developing assets of our own. Udaipur will be an important milestone because we have been able to plan the property around the operational requirements of these segments.”

Black Rock currently works with property owners under revenue-sharing arrangements.

It is responsible for staffing, operating expenditure and daily hotel operations, while owners receive an agreed share of revenue.

Owning Kingsbury will add asset development to Black Rock’s operating model.

The company will continue to manage hotels through partnerships with independent property owners while developing owned assets.

The report added that the planned openings are expected to increase Black Rock’s room capacity across destination resorts, weddings, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), and leisure markets.
