Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, has reopened to host multiple events after two years of closure for extensive refurbishment.
The 5-star hotel hosted the official opening dinner for the annual Cannes Film Festival, which in 2023 runs from 16-27 May. It was followed by the hotel’s opening event.

The hotel was built between 1911 and 1913 and is said to have opened the first private beach plot in Cannes. It was classified as an official historical monument in 1989.
750 people and 450 companies worked on the Carlton Cannes Hotel refurbishment project which included cleaning, renovating and enlarging facades with new wings. The inscription “Carlton Hotel” on the front was reproduced identically, as for the hotel’s first opening in 1913.
Interior designer Tristan Aure commented: “From the very beginning, the idea has been to skilfully preserve listed places, while creating a masterpiece of modern times.”
