Choice Hotels International has signed agreement with Brookwood Hotels for the development of over 20 new WoodSpring Suites.
The properties will be developed over the next few years.
Franchised by Choice Hotels, WoodSpring Suites currently has over 130 hotels in the pipeline and more than 245 properties are currently open. The properties offer all-suite rooms with fully-equipped kitchens, flexible workspaces, and guest laundry facilities.
Choice Hotels WoodSpring Suites development vice president Ron Burgett said: “Sustained interest in the WoodSpring Suites brand and the performance of the business model affirms our growth strategy is working.
“WoodSpring has experienced tremendous success since Choice’s acquisition, breaking the brand’s record for most franchise contracts awarded in a single year. We look forward to accelerating the brand’s expansion with Brookwood Hotels. Together, we’ll bring WoodSpring to even more markets to meet the demand for longer-term stays.”
Brookwood Hotels is Choice Hotels’s largest franchisee. It has a portfolio of over 100 WoodSpring-branded hotels across the US. This latest agreement indicates the brand’s aggressive expansion plan.

As of 30 June, Choice Hotels International has over 6,800 franchised hotels, representing over 550,000 rooms in over 40 countries.
Brookwood Hotels is a hospitality platform company established at the same point of time of the purchase of WoodSpring Suites brand by Choice Hotels in February.
Owned by a Brookfield Asset Management (Brookfield) -sponsored private real estate fund, Brookwood Hotels owns over 100 hotels in the economy extended-stay segment across the country, with major concentration being in the state of Florida.
