Specialist hotel property adviser Christie & Co, on behalf of Coast & Country Collection, has announced the sale of the Imperial Hotel in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, UK.
Originally built around 1835 as a series of terraced houses, the Imperial Hotel is located on the Victorian seafront in Tenby.
Crest Hotels, the new owner, has taken over the freehold of the Imperial Hotel, which was on the market for a price of £2.5m.
Crest Hotels directors Gurjinder and Parminder Singh said: “We are extremely proud to bring this iconic hotel into our existing portfolio and look forward to working with the team in situ to further build on its reputation and stature.”
The 19th-century Victorian establishment boasts 45 bedrooms, alongside a bar and lounge. It offers panoramic sea views of the South Beach.
The Imperial Hotel, as part of Shearings Hotels, went into administration in May 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19. It reopened in 2021 as part of former Shearings Hotels’ newly formed collection, the ‘Coast & Country Hotel Collection’.

By GlobalDataRepresenting the seller, Christie & Co regional director Ed Belfield said: “The sale of The Imperial Hotel represented an exceptional opportunity to acquire a successful hotel business with significant repeat patronage. We congratulate the new owners on their purchase of an iconic South Wales coastal resort hotel.
“The hotel is one of the 33 assets put to market as part of the Coast & Country Portfolio. The hotels have received very strong interest to date, and a very limited number of these assets remain available, so we invite any interested parties to get in touch.”
In April this year, Christie & Co, on behalf of Coast & Country Hotels, facilitated the sale of two UK properties, the Royal Hotel Whitby in North Yorkshire and The Majestic Hotel in Eastbourne.
