Coral Sea Hotels Group, a hotel-chain operator in Papua New Guinea (PNG), is set to introduce Shiji’s Daylight property management system (PMS) across its portfolio of seven hotels.

According to Shiji, the move by Coral Sea Hotels marks a shift towards a unified, cloud-based approach for managing guest services and operations.

Coral Sea Hotels’ Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby became the first property in PNG to implement the new PMS, with the remaining properties set to follow.

The move aims to centralise control of reservations, guest data, and day-to-day processes, allowing the group to deliver more consistent and personalised experiences to its guests.

By adopting a single platform, Coral Sea Hotels expects to increase operational efficiency and gain greater visibility into workflows at all levels.

Shiji’s Daylight PMS is structured around a unified guest profile, supporting hotel staff with access to real-time, comprehensive data.

The system’s cloud-native architecture is designed to provide flexibility and enhanced data protection. Shiji reports that the platform is compliant with international privacy standards, an important feature for hotels managing sensitive guest information.

Shiji Australia and New Zealand general manager Anthony Stevens said: “Coral Sea Hotels Group is setting a new standard for hospitality in Papua New Guinea. Daylight PMS was designed around the guest, not just the room.

“By connecting guest data, operations, and service workflows on a secure and scalable platform, Coral Sea Hotels can anticipate guest needs, respond in real time, and create seamless experiences across every property.”

The deployment includes integration with other hospitality systems such as Infrasys point of sale (POS), Reviewpro Reputation, Twilight Data + AI, and Stellaris Digital.

Coral Sea Hotels has also connected its PMS to platforms like SiteMinder, Amadeus iHotelier, Aven Hospitality, Duetto, and Mitel, supporting streamlined distribution, enhanced revenue management, and improved communication.

Coral Sea Hotels hospitality division head Damian Cooper said: “Implementing Daylight PMS gives our teams a single source of truth across all properties.

“With unified guest profiles and integrated partner solutions, we can deliver consistent, personalised service from booking to check-out while making smarter, data-driven decisions.”

According to Shiji, this deployment forms part of its efforts to provide secure technology solutions for hotel operators in emerging markets.

Earlier this year, Shiji completed the installation of its Infrasys POS system at Hyatt Regency Greenville in South Carolina, US.
