IHG operated this property earlier under a management agreement.
Effective as of 1 May, the new arrangement will see Covivio operate the hotel directly through a franchise agreement with IHG.
Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport serves a range of guests with 315 rooms and multiple event facilities that include 18 meeting spaces covering 790m².
Amenities at the site comprise a restaurant, 24-hour reception, secure parking, and wellness facilities such as a hammam and sauna.
The change in operational control forms part of Covivio’s stated aim to develop an integrated hotel platform and enhance asset management.
The WiZiU platform currently operates 25 hotels, with 13 of these located in Belgium.
Covivio continues to seek further control of its hotel assets, aiming to optimise their management performance by shifting more operations in-house.
In December 2025, Covivio appointed SmartBack, a furniture and equipment refurbishment specialist, to manage the reuse of furniture and equipment of the Holiday Inn Le Touquet hotel ahead of its planned renovation.
SmartBack handled the logistics and refurbishment process before the hotel’s closure for redevelopment.
As a result, all items were reused, through resale to staff and local businesses or donated to charities, preventing 88t of CO₂ emissions. Covivio incorporates sustainability and reuse-focused practices in its redevelopment activities.
