Deutsche Hospitality opens new IntercityHotel in China

IntercityHotel Zhengzhou East Railway Station is the third hotel in China under the midscale brand.

Deutsche Hospitality, in partnership with its shareholder Huazhu, has launched a new IntercityHotel in the capital city of Henan Province, China.

The hotel opening is in line with the group’s strategy to expand the brand’s presence in Chinese metropolises.

Set in Zhengdong New District business area, the property is just a ten-minute walk from the fourth largest train station in the area, the Zhengzhou East Railway Station.

IntercityHotel Zhengzhou East Railway Station features 260 rooms, a multifunctional 200m2 conference area, a restaurant and a 24-hour fitness centre.

Deutsche Hospitality CEO Marcus Bernhardt said: “Thanks to its simplicity, high technical affinity and clear, modern design, IntercityHotel is ideally suited for the Asian market. In China in particular, the hotels appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

“We are very pleased that our shareholder Huazhu is consistently expanding the brand in the metropolises of China.”

IntercityHotel Zhengzhou East Railway Station is the third to be operated under the midscale IntercityHotel brand in China.

It offers easy access to nearby railway stations, airports, business centres and other tourist destinations such as the Shaolin Monastery on the Yellow River.

IntercityHotel is a modern, upper-middle-class city hotel brand under Deutsche Hospitality.

More than 40 IntercityHotel hotels are operating in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Oman and China, with 20 more properties currently under development.

In May this year, Deutsche Hospitality opened the IntercityHotel Yangzhou Slender West Lake in the East of China in Jiangsu Province.

The hotel features 103 rooms, a rooftop terrace, a lobby bar, a restaurant serving both German and Chinese specialities, and a gym.
