The property comprises 116 guest rooms, including 23 suites, and a range of dining venues, including the hotel’s main restaurant ‘Gordon Ramsay at The Mere’.

It also features a 1,000m² Grand Ballroom, four boardrooms and a variety of flexible spaces designed to accommodate corporate functions, weddings and private gatherings.

Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere also has an 18-hole championship-standard golf course and the Fairmont Spa, described as a “restorative retreat”.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of the Accor group, said the opening follows a £125m ($167m) developer-led transformation that blends Fairmont’s hospitality standards with local Cheshire character.

Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere is the brand’s fourth hotel in the UK, joining The Savoy, A Fairmont Hotel, Fairmont Windsor Park, and Fairmont St Andrews.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts CEO Omer Acar said: “We are thrilled to announce the opening of Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere, a landmark occasion that debuts a new era of luxury hospitality in the north-west of England.

“Following its comprehensive transformation by Select Group, this magnificent property will introduce Fairmont’s globally acclaimed hospitality and heartfelt service to this iconic location.

“The property is poised to become a vibrant social epicentre, meticulously designed to offer unparalleled experiences, including incredible golf, spa and wellness in the great outdoors, as well as dining by globally renowned Gordon Ramsay, and is a true celebration of the region’s diverse history and landscape.”
