Global hospitality company Hilton has entered into a franchise agreement to bring its newest lifestyle hotel brand Tempo by Hilton to Canada.

Scheduled to launch in 2028, the new build property is part of a multi-use complex offering easy access to Toronto Pearson International Airport, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

The hotel, owned and developed by the Toronto-based Inspiration Group, marks Hilton’s expanding presence in Canada.

With over 190 hotels currently open and nearly 110 properties in the development pipeline, Hilton is on track to exceed 200 hotels in the country this year.

Situated around 25km from downtown Toronto, the 16-story hotel is designed by Khalsa Design.

It will feature 193 guest rooms, encompassing four suites, with zones dedicated to relaxation, preparation, and rest.

The Power Down in-room experience focuses on sleep experience with features like adjustable lighting, blackout curtains, and wireless phone chargers.

Guests at Tempo Wellness rooms will have access to Peloton equipment.

The hotel will offer various dining options, encompassing a coffee bar and a complimentary Hydration Bar.

Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy the fitness centre, which includes a cardio space, weights area, and recovery zone, as well as an indoor pool.

For business and events, the property will provide more than 3,000ft² of meeting space, encompassing two ballrooms and four meeting rooms.

The Tempo by Hilton Toronto Airport will be part of an expanding portfolio that includes locations from New York to Nashville and nearly 60 additional properties under development in global cities such as Belfast, Reykjavik, and Lisbon.

This growth aligns with Hilton’s goal to double its Lifestyle portfolio by 2028, which includes brands like Canopy by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, and others.

This development follows Hilton’s announcement in September 2024 to introduce the Spark by Hilton brand to Canada.
