UK-based IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in Europe with the first Vignette Collection property in France, marking its sixth luxury brand representation in the country.

This development follows an agreement with Global Hotels & Resorts (GHR).

The new property, which will open next year, will include GHR’s existing Tiara Miramar and Tiara Yaktsa hotels. The sites will maintain their individual histories and unique characteristics while being incorporated into the Vignette Collection.

The Vignette Collection brand targets owners of independent luxury and lifestyle hotels, allowing them to benefit from IHG’s technology, revenue systems, and operational expertise.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice-president Willemijn Geels said: “I am excited to be working alongside our long-standing partners at GHR to bring the first Vignette Collection to this market, and to strengthen our luxury and lifestyle offering along the Côte d’Azur.

“Together with GHR, we have seen great success with our existing properties – InterContinental Lisbon and Crowne Plaza Porto – and are now delighted to bring forward a unique hotel in a prestigious and internationally recognised location.”

Located in Théoule sur Mer, the hotel will feature meeting and events spaces, red rock beaches, dining options, swimming pools, a gym, a spa, and a bar.

Global Hotels & Resorts founder Sheikh Mohammed Youssef El Khereiji said: “Our objective is to sustainably grow our portfolio of exceptional properties and of solid investments, and to generate value and wealth generation after generation.”

The new French property highlights the rapid growth of IHG’s newest luxury and lifestyle brand. This adds to the ten existing IHG hotels in Europe and over 50 signed and planned properties worldwide.

Five of IHG’s six luxury brands are currently present in France, with 12 properties already operating.

In three years, Vignette Collection crossed the halfway mark towards its goal of reaching 100 hotels within the next decade.

In September 2024, as part of European expansion, Vignette Collection marked its debut in Spain, with the signing of Vignette Collection Mallorca-Finca Banyols.

In a separate development, IHG’s Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts has announced renovations across several hotels in the Americas.

The latest updates feature a new design with zones for productivity, restoration, and collaboration.

Updated guest rooms and communal areas are designed to support both work and relaxation, complemented by food and beverage options.

IHG anticipates that 70% of Crowne Plaza’s Americas estate will feature the new design by the end of this year.
