Global hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its midscale brand Garner Hotel, into the UK market with the launch of Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury.

This addition to IHG’s portfolio signifies the brand’s growing presence in Europe and aligns with its strategy to increase the number of Garner hotels in key markets, including Germany, following an agreement with NOVUM Hospitality.

Operated by KRO Hospitality, Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury embodies the brand’s “Made with Character” design hallmark, offering a contemporary experience with 80 guest rooms over three floors.

IHG Hotels & Resorts UK and Ireland vice president and managing director Joanna Kurowska said: “Its arrival sees us strengthen our midscale portfolio further by bringing a new brand to the market to join our growing Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.

“We proudly partner with owners who share our commitment to investing in exceptional hotels that foster long-term support for the local community. That is why we are delighted to open our first Garner hotels alongside KRO Hospitality.”

Free Wi-Fi, bean-to-cup coffee, and snacks are available at the Garner Shop while the hotel offers a range of dining options, including the Lounge Bar and Village Brasserie.

Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury general manager Neelesh Chaturvedi said: “Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury is the perfect location for guests seeking quality stays at an affordable price point –whether they are exploring Preston and or in need of a quick overnight rest.

“I’m confident our unique blend of style, service, and value under the brand’s ethos of ‘easy going stays that get you on your way’ will be welcomed by guests.”

The Garner Hotel brand has seen growth since its inception in 2023, with more than 117 hotels either open or in the pipeline worldwide.

The brand’s expansion in Europe is notable, with 56 hotels set to open in Northern Europe and recent signings in Turkey and Italy.

Guests staying at any Garner hotel can take advantage of the benefits offered by the IHG One Rewards loyalty programme.

Furthering its expansion in Southern Europe, IHG rebranded a Pacini Group property in Italy to Garner Hotel Rome Aurelia last month, marking another milestone in the brand’s development.
