
Queensland’s luxury resort operator Hamilton Island Enterprises (HIE) has chosen hospitality software provider Agilysys to further boost its operational effectiveness and guest experiences.
HIE plans to implement Agilysys’ Versa property management system (PMS), along with ten complementary systems within the Versa PMS suite.
Agilysys said that the comprehensive suite of solutions is designed to refine reservation processes for lodging, golf, spa services, and various activities through both online platforms and call centres.
The solutions will also advance workforce administration and expand mobile service capabilities.
Guests will also benefit from convenient mobile ordering for food and beverages, streamlined digital check-in and check-out procedures, advancements in digital marketing, document management, and implementation of “secure” payment processing systems.
Hamilton Island is located among the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia, near the Great Barrier Reef.
HIE IT general manager Mark Van Santvoort said: “Our goal was to implement a cost-effective cloud-native system that is intuitive, adaptable, and enhances both efficiency and service delivery across the island. Through our collaboration with Agilysys, we saw an opportunity to integrate a suite of advanced, best-in-class software solutions tailored to the unique needs of our island operations.
“By optimising digital interactions and automating repetitive tasks, we are making it easier for our teams to focus on delivering the warm, world-class service for which Hamilton Island is known.”
The decision to choose Agilysys was influenced by HIE’s existing relationship with the company, as it already used the Agilysys InfoGenesis point-of-sale (POS) system.
Van Santvoort added: “The ability to easily integrate our POS with a next-generation PMS and complementary solutions was a key factor. Agilysys’ proven support and responsiveness reinforced our confidence in this partnership.”
In May 2024, Marriott International approved Agilysys’ InfoGenesis POS platform as an option within Marriott’s Luxury, Premium, and Select properties to provide a unified purchasing experience.
