Its platform is used by thousands of leisure and business travellers to plan their journeys each day.

HappyEasyGo CEO Boris Zha said, “Nium’s payment solutions have been transformative for our operations. Their ability to issue virtual cards quickly and in multiple currencies has streamlined our payment processes, reduced costs, and enabled us to offer better service to our customers. Nium’s payment solutions cater to the specific challenges faced by online travel agencies, promoting faster and more secure transactions.

The company’s recent 110% revenue increase in the APAC travel sector underscores the demand for such innovative payment systems.

With APAC travel reaching 65% of pre-pandemic levels in 2023, the region is one of the fastest-growing travel markets globally.

Nium global head of travel payments Spencer Hanlon said: “Our growth in the APAC region is a testament to our commitment to providing innovative payment solutions that address the specific needs of the travel sector.

“Our partnership with HappyEasyGo shows how our advanced payment solutions can drive success for online travel agencies by improving operational efficiency and profitability.”

Nium’s ability to fund and issue virtual cards in over 20 local currencies reduces foreign exchange conversion costs and improves global acceptance.

This feature is particularly advantageous for travel businesses operating in multiple markets such as HappyEasyGo.

Additionally, Nium’s payment solutions enable invoice settlements within two days as opposed to the regular industry standard of 30 days and customisable payment account parameters provide businesses with greater control over cash flow and revenue.

The suite of Mastercard and Visa certified virtual cards from Nium offers OTA and travel intermediary customers increased flexibility and choice for their hotel and airline partners.

This strengthens supplier relationships and enhances the travel experience for customers worldwide.
