Hard Rock International, in collaboration with GEK TERNA Group and the local community in Athens, Greece, celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hard Rock Hotel Athens, a luxury resort set to open its doors in 2027.
The event took place at Hellinikon Airport and featured key figures from Hard Rock International and the GEK TERNA Group along with Greek government officials, political dignitaries and community leaders.
A resort for continental Europe
The Hard Rock Hotel Athens, in the heart of the Athens Riviera, is poised to become the first integrated resort of its kind in continental Europe.
The resort aims to be a catalyst for economic growth in entertainment and tourism in the city, offering a unique blend of upscale accommodation, premier meeting and convention space, state-of-the-art entertainment venues, dining options, a Rock Spa® and pool complex and a high-end retail promenade.
Set to open in 2027, the €1.5bn construction project will generate 3,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent jobs and significantly boost the local and national economies.
