Hard Rock International has announced the opening of its first hotel in Malta, called Hard Rock Hotel Malta.

The property officially opened its doors following a “celebratory guitar smash ceremony”, the company said in a statement.

Located above St George’s Bay, the hotel features 397 rooms, a rooftop cantilevered pool, 11 swimming pools, a dedicated beach club and a 466m² ballroom.

The property includes more than ten restaurant, bar, lounge and club venues.

These include a 1,400m² dining and entertainment hub called Hard Rock Cafe St Julian’s Malta with indoor and outdoor seating capacity for 222 guests.

Additionally, the hotel also includes Rock Spa, which spans almost 4,000m² and is claimed to be one of Malta’s largest wellness facilities.

Hard Rock said the hotel represents a €350m ($406m) direct investment in Malta’s tourism sector.

The investment has created jobs across a range of specialised positions, including mixologists, culinary staff, wellness therapists and luxury hospitality specialists.
