Hospitality group Hilton is continuing its expansion in Germany by signing a franchise agreement to open new property in Heidelberg’s city centre.

The agreement comes ahead of this year’s International Hotel Investment Conference (IHIF).

Located at Kurfuersten-Anlage 1, Heidelberg, the upscale hotel is just walking distance away from Heidelberg’s baroque old town and the historic Heidelberg Castle.

Hilton Heidelberg, which is owned by Invesco Real Estate, is set to undergo a major renovation programme.

It will open its doors for guests in summer 2022 after completing refurbishment.

Invesco Real Estate hotel assets management senior director Hans-Peter Hermann said: “Invesco Real Estate is investing in refurbishing and repositioning the hotel into a market leader benefiting from the Hilton brand.
