Following the renovation work,  the hotel’s design now features an urban style with a relaxed atmosphere, furnishings, and ambient lighting.

The boutique hotel includes a total of 43 rooms and suites. Each room features 12-foot wooden window doors that open to Juliet balconies, providing views of Old San Juan.

The rooms are also equipped with large smart TVs, plush beds, work desks, and custom wall cabinets.

Dining options at Palacio Provincial include the Consular Restaurant & Bar, which is set in a courtyard, and the Atelier Rooftop Terrace offering views of San Juan Bay and the city.

The hotel also caters to events of varying sizes for organising intimate gatherings as well as grand celebrations.

Hilton Caribbean and Latin America development vice-president Pablo Maturana said: “We are thrilled to announce the signing and upcoming conversion of Palacio Provincial, Curio Collection by Hilton and expanding Hilton’s Puerto Rico portfolio to such a sought-after destination with a remarkable hotel that preserves the cultural legacy of Old San Juan and meets our guests in destinations they want to travel.

“The signing reflects our commitment to expand our robust pipeline in the region and nearly double our presence in Puerto Rico.”

Hilton currently operates nine hotels across its six brands in Puerto Rico.

The addition of Palacio Provincial to Curio Collection further extends Hilton’s footprint in the Caribbean region, where it operates more than 30 hotels.

Last month, Hilton opened its first Curio Collection branded property on the Phu Quoc island in Vietnam.
