Hilton to open Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi in Malaysia

The resort is slated to open in 2024.

Hilton has signed an agreement with Tradewinds Corporation to open Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi in Malaysia.

Slated to open in 2024, the resort signifies Tradewinds Corporation’s fourth property with Hilton, after Hilton Petaling Jaya, Hilton Kuching, and the recently announced Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur.

This 251-room resort will be Hilton’s second property in Langkawi, complementing The Nautilus Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton that is expected to open in 2023.

Hilton Asia and Australasia development senior vice president Guy Phillips said: “Langkawi is a tropical paradise famed for its natural beauty – home to South East Asia’s first UNESCO World Geopark and a popular upscale destination for international and domestic travelers alike. We are delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Tradewinds Corporation Berhad and bring Hilton’s flagship brand and world-class hospitality to Langkawi.”

Located in Burau Bay along Langkawi’s western coastline, the resort will offer views of the Straits of Malacca, and have a 600m beachfront.

It will overlook the Gunung Mat Cincang, Seratosa Island, and Burau Island, and surrounded by coastal rainforests.

Hilton Burau Bay Resort will be a 15-minute drive from the Langkawi Airport, and 40 minutes away from Kuah Jetty.

Tradewinds Corporation group chief executive officer and managing director Muhammad Zainal Ashikin said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Hilton through the upcoming debut of Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi. The resort marks our fourth collaboration with Hilton, underscoring the strong synergies between our companies. We are confident that Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi will be a fine addition to this popular leisure destination and will be well-received by locals and international visitors alike.”

Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi will have an executive lounge and five dining concepts including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a pool bar.

It will feature a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness centre, basketball and tennis courts.

The resort will also offer 800m2 of events space, and a ballroom of around 400m2 for social events and celebrations.
