Hospitality industry platform the Hotel Association of India (HAI) has hosted the 6th HAI Hoteliers Conclave on 12 February 2024. The gathering was titled “Hospitality – The Engine for GDP Growth and Employment”.

The day-long conference was hosted at the Taj Palace in New Delhi and brought together hotel owners and CEOs, hospitality policymakers and professionals.

Leading the event were IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal and Radisson Hotel Group principal advisor for South Asia KB Kachru.

Sessions included topics such as operational excellence, the role of technology, employment challenges and dialogue with state tourism officials on the future of the industry in India.

The event was part of the Vision India@2047 national plan steered by India’s prime minister Shri Narenda Modi, which encompasses economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance.

HAI secretary general MP Bezbaruah commented: “The sector has already crossed pre-pandemic levels and with domestic tourism at an all-time high, [it] will play a key role in India’s Vision 2047. All indicators of growth suggest that momentum will be maintained and improve in 2024.”
