Global hospitality company Hyatt Hotels has opened a new resort in India, which marks the 12th Hyatt Regency-branded property in the country.

Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort is located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh state near the Dhauladhar mountain range.

The resort, which is spread across 6.5 acres, features 80 guestrooms including ten Regency Club guestrooms and three suites; a bar and a bakery; four deluxe villas, ranging from one to five-bedroom properties.

Each guestroom offers views of the gardens, cedar wood trees or the snowcapped Dhauladar range of the Himalayas.

Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort has separate spaces for conferences, weddings, intimate dinners and gatherings spanning more than 2,000ft2 of event space.

The ballroom features a glass-enclosed, tree-filled outdoor lawn, along with an attached, open-air terrace.

Hyatt vice president of India operations Sunjae Sharma said: “The resort is inspired by the hill station’s unique heritage and culture, and designed to offer a comprehensive range of premium experiences while ensuring guests feel connected to nature.

“With the popular tourist destination of Dharamshala attracting an increasing number of domestic and international travelers, we are confident the Hyatt Regency brand is the perfect fit to cater to them, providing personalized care and hospitality.”

At present, there are more than 195 Hyatt Regency urban and resort locations in over 30 countries across the world.

As of 30 September 2019, Hyatt Hotels’ portfolio included over 875 properties in more than 60 countries across six continents.

Earlier this year, Hyatt Hotels announced plans to add more than 2,100 guestrooms with the opening of over 14 new properties in India in the next 24 months.
