
Hospitality giant Hyatt Hotels has bolstered its presence in China by opening Andaz Shenzhen Bay in Shenzhen.
The new luxury hotel is part of 860,000-sq.m (212 acre) mixed-use development that also includes China Resources Headquarters, the high-end Shenzhen Bay MixC mall, Shenzhen Bay Sports Center and China Resources Financial Building.
It is located close to Houhai Metro station and is a 30-minute drive from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport.
Designed by New York designer Tony Chi, Andaz Shenzhen Bay features 220 guestrooms. These 538 to 2,690sqft (50 to 250sqm) room features 65-inch IPTVs, Dyson hairdryers and smart mirrors with internet access.
Guests are also provided with exclusive bath amenities by French master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel.
Furthermore, the complimentary minibar in the rooms carries custom-made Andaz IPA beer, Voss water, local Sarsae soda, and a range of local snacks including baked-pork Phoenix cookies.
These rooms of the Andaz Shenzhen Bay are decorated with a blend of duck-egg blue plantation shutters and Calacatta Luccicoso-style marble.
The hotel also flaunts tactile leather, hand-painted chinoiserie wallpaper, gold-leaf panelling, graphically tiled marble and glossy lacquered finishes to offer a distinctive experience to the guests.
Led by Argentinian executive chef Federico Heinzmann, Andaz Shenzhen Bay has five restaurants and bars.
These include a modern interpretation of a traditional Chinese teahouse called Mayflower, members-only club Bar 1919, The Club House, East Room, West Room and Veranda.
Hotel guests will be offered complimentary drinks and snacks throughout the day, in addition to cocktails and craft bites every day from 5 pm to 7 pm in East Atelier.
Among other amenities, Andaz Shenzhen Bay features a 24-hour fitness centre, swimming pool, a warm vitality pool with water jets, as well as a sauna and steam room in the changing rooms.
It also features a total of 10,193sqft (947sqm) of event space designed for events of all sizes, ranging from a private dinner for 15 to a corporate conference for 380 people.
Last week, Hyatt Hotels revealed plans for a new Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco’s south of market (SoMa) neighbourhood.
Last year, Hyatt Hotels announced its plans to open 21 properties in Asia Pacific by the end of 2020.
