Hyatt Hotels has announced plans to open the Hyatt Regency Tucson Convention Center in partnership with HSL Properties and Desert Hospitality Management.
The hotel is expected to open in late 2027. It will be the first Hyatt Regency-branded property in Tucson and will expand Hyatt’s presence in Southern Arizona.

The property will be located in downtown Tucson near the Tucson Convention Center. It will also be within walking distance of the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, Leo Rich Theater and Tucson Arena.
In a statement, Hyatt said the project will involve an “extensive multi-million-dollar transformation” of the property. The plans include 291 guestrooms and suites, a fitness centre, a pool area, and approximately 22,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The meeting facilities are expected to include a ballroom and multiple breakout rooms. Hyatt said the spaces are intended to support corporate meetings, association events, weddings and other social functions.
HSL Properties president Omar Mireles said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Hyatt to introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to the heart of downtown Tucson.
“This investment reflects our confidence in Tucson’s continued growth and our commitment to enhancing the city’s hospitality offerings. Hyatt Regency Tucson Convention Center will serve as a catalyst for convention business, tourism, and economic development while providing guests with an exceptional experience in one of Arizona’s most dynamic destinations.”
Additional information on the construction timeline, amenities, dining plans and opening activities will be announced as the project progresses.
The Hyatt Regency brand operates across more than 245 locations in over 50 countries. Earlier this year, Hyatt opened the Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve in Portugal.
