Hospitality company Hyatt Hotels has announced the rebranding and renovation of The Confidante Miami Beach, to Andaz Miami Beach, with an expected opening in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Owned by Sunstone Hotel Investors, the property is set to undergo a comprehensive transformation that will include a barrier-free lobby, redesigned pools, outdoor areas, a new spa, and updated guestrooms, suites, and meeting spaces.

This oceanfront hotel will temporarily close its doors on 25 March 2024 to facilitate the extensive renovations.

The reimagined Andaz Miami Beach will feature a new culinary collaboration with the hotel’s new culinary provider, José Andrés Group, enhancing the dining experience with three venues.

This renovation also marks the first Andaz hotel in Florida and aims to strengthen Hyatt’s presence in a key leisure market.

The Andaz brand, with 29 properties worldwide and more in development, is known for offering guests unique experiences that reflect the local culture.

The Andaz Miami Beach will boast new features such as ocean view check-in, a bar-forward Andaz Lounge, and a restaurant with an outdoor terrace.

The property is also set to provide 25,000ft² of indoor and outdoor event spaces, including ballrooms with ocean views and a technologically equipped pool area.

Andaz Miami Beach general manager Amy Johnson said: “We are thrilled to unveil this new chapter for Hyatt as our hotel becomes the Andaz Miami Beach, blending the essence of Miami Beach with the allure of imaginative travel to stimulate guests’ curiosity and self-expression.”

“This exciting journey brings the luxury lifestyle Andaz brand to Florida along with exciting collaborations like Jose Andres Group. We look forward to welcoming back our guests and the local community to a completely new and bold hotel, embodying the distinctly native experience and expressive nature of the Andaz brand, while still capturing the essence of Miami Beach.”

José Andrés Group will introduce three distinct dining experiences at the new Andaz Miami Beach. These venues will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, alongside a craft cocktail bar, all expected to be operational with the hotel’s reopening.

The collaboration aims to offer a signature dining concept tailored to Miami’s contemporary scene.
