
Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a new resort in the state of Punjab.
Located in Barnala, this new property will be part of the Gateway brand.
The new signing comes after the company introduced the brand with the opening of the first Gateway brand hotel in Bekal, Kerala.
Gateway Barnala will cover an area of nine acres and feature a unique low-rise design with 100 villas and rooms.
The new resort will boast an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant and a bar, a health centre and a gymnasium.
Gateway Barnala will also house a 7,000ft² banquet hall and meeting rooms, suitable for hosting corporate and social gatherings.

BRH Eaton executive Lakhvir Singh has plans to develop hotels in Punjab and Himanchal Pradesh.
IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “This signing is in line with our strategy of growing IHCL’s presence in Tier II and III cities in India.
“Barnala, a commercial and industrial centre bordering Ludhiana is an emerging market in Punjab. Gateway, the latest addition to IHCL’s brand portfolio will showcase this vibrant city. We are delighted to partner with Lakhvir Singh for this project.”
Gateway Barnala will bring IHCL’s portfolio in Punjab to three hotels, with two properties under development.
IHCL operates various brands and a network of 340 hotels, including 112 under development worldwide.
