Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has plans to open SeleQtions hotel in the Indian city of Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in 2025.

In this regard, IHCL signed a management contract for the SeleQtions hotel with Kudrat Hotels Private Limited.

With the opening of this hotel, IHCL would make its debut in Kanpur.

Commenting on the signing of the contract, IHCL executive vice president for real estate and development Suma Venkatesh said, “The signing of this hotel is in line with IHCL’s strategy of being present in India’s key developing cities. A key industrial and financial hub in North India, Kanpur is also known for its historical and spiritual significance owing to its location on the banks of the Ganga.

“Introducing the SeleQtions brand to the city will boost its hospitality offering for both, business and leisure travellers. We are happy to partner with Kudrat Hotels Pvt. Ltd. for this project.”

Spread across five acres, the brownfield property will feature an all-day diner and bar.

It will have an expansive banqueting space and meeting rooms spread across 10,500ft2, claimed to be the largest in the city.

Kudrat Hotels Private Limited director Hardeep Singh Makkar said, “As a key commercial hub, Kanpur’s hospitality landscape is rapidly evolving. We are delighted to partner with IHCL to bring the SeleQtions brand to the city.”

Following the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have sixteen hotels across brands in the state of Uttar Pradesh, including seven under development.

Last month, IHCL signed a management contract for new Taj property in the Indian city of Bengaluru.

The management contract for the new resort was signed with Sattva Homes, a part of Sattva Group.

IHCL has a portfolio of 240 hotels, including 62 under development globally across four continents, 11 countries and in over 100 locations.
