The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has expanded its Vivanta hotel chain with the signing of new property in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

The new Vivanta hotel will open after renovation of the existing property located on LBS Road in Thane, Maharashtra.

It will feature 99 rooms and dining venues including all-day dining restaurant, Mynt, and a bar.

Other guest amenities include a pool, fitness centre, spa and banqueting halls featuring meeting rooms for social and business events.

The new hotel is slated to open in 2023.

IHCL Real Estate & Development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “Continuing IHCL’s vision of strengthening our presence in key domestic markets, the signing of this hotel will debut the Vivanta brand in Thane and will be our second hotel in this metropolitan city.

“Thane is an integral extension of Mumbai, known for its natural beauty and rapid industrial development. We are delighted to partner with NSM Hotels Private Limited for this project.”

Vivanta hotel in Thane is located close to a commercial and residential area at the intersection of Eastern Express Way and Ghodbunder Road.

The area is expected to be connected by the upcoming phase of the Mumbai Metro project.

IHCL has signed a management contract with NSM Hotels for the new property.

NSM Hotels Private Limited chairman Mangesh Bhosale said: “We are happy to collaborate with IHCL for this new hotel in Thane. We believe that this Vivanta hotel will leverage the untapped potential of the hospitality landscape in the city with a new and refreshed spirit.”

With the new addition, IHCL’s portfolio will reach 13 hotels in Mumbai including four under development.

In March this year, Vivanta brand added a new hotel opening to its portfolio in Mumbai.
