IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in Latin America by debuting Candlewood Suites and avid hotels brands in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The company opened Candlewood Suites Guadalajara Galerías property on Avenida Manuel J. Clouthier and is near Plaza Galerías.

The hotel will house 118 fully equipped suites, each featuring full kitchen and separate spaces for rest and work.

Other guest amenities include a pool, a gym, a laundry, and a furnished terrace.

Candlewood Suites Guadalajara Galerías, which is part of the Plaza Grüncom Clouthier mixed-use development, is owned and operated by Roomie Hotel Ownership and Operadora Internacional Monbyhotels respectively.

IHG Hotels & Resorts will be the franchise holder of the property.

The hotel marks the third property for Candlewood Suites in Mexico. The first two hotels are in Queretaro and Guanajuato.

avid hotel Guadalajara Av. Vallarta Poniente features 124 rooms and other amenities including a fitness centre, a small market for essential items, and others.

Located within a commercial complex, Plaza Epicentra, the property is close to Akron Stadium and a 45-minute drive from the town of Tequila.

IHG Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean chief operating officer Jorge Apaez said: “Debuting two brands in such a popular destination like Guadalajara is undoubtedly an occasion to celebrate.

These openings add 242 rooms to IHG’s system size in Guadalajara.

In June this year, IHG opened 126-room avid hotel Tijuana Otay in Mexico.
