Developer RAK Properties has extended its strategic partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts for the rollout of a new Staybridge Suites-branded property on Hayat Island, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Staybridge Suites Mina Al Arab will offer 156 rooms, ranging from studios to one and two-bedroom apartments.

The property will have a fitness centre, as well as breakfast and restaurant areas.

It will also provide guests direct beach access and the option to use amenities at the nearby InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa, situated within walking distance.

The 14-storey building marks the second collaboration between the two companies, following the launch of the Intercontinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa last year.

The partnership’s latest project is intended to meet the requirements of extended-stay business and leisure travellers.

RAK Properties is developing Staybridge Suites Mina Al Arab as part of its master plan for Hayat Island.

It is expected to further solidify Mina Al Arab’s status as a lifestyle destination, aligning with the goals of RAK Vision 2030.

RAK Properties CEO Sameh Muhtadi said: “We are delighted to partner with one of the world’s leading hotel companies, IHG Hotels & Resorts, to open our first Staybridge Suites Mina Al Arab in Ras Al Khaimah.

“We’re witnessing a trend of blended stay, where guests arrive for business but then stay longer for personal travel, and we are plugging the gap for a long serviced stay in the emirate.”

Staybridge Suites, founded in 1998, is IHG’s extended-stay hotel brand that caters to both leisure and business travellers.

The brand currently has nine hotels totalling 1,648 rooms in the Middle East and four additional properties in the development pipeline with 558 rooms.

Earlier this week, IHG opened the first Hotel Indigo-branded Malaysian property in Kuala Lumpur.

Hotel Indigo features 278 hotels, either operational or in development globally, and has plans to open four new hotels next year.

IHG currently includes 19 hotel brands, with more than 6,200 operational hotels spanning over 100 countries and 2,000 properties under development.
