IHG Hotels and Resorts has announced the signing of Hotel Indigo Satu Mare, marking the foray of its lifestyle brand into Romania.

The Hotel Indigo Satu Mare, situated in the Art Nouveau building in Satu Mare, is planned to open in 2025 and will feature 62 design-led rooms and suites, along with a locally inspired restaurant, a cocktail bar and a spa.

IHG Hotels and Resorts signed the franchise agreement with Manevi ZRT’s subsidiary Dacia SRL.

The hospitality group noted that this deal with an ambitious new owner group marks a new era of partnership.

Hungarian hotel operator Hotel and More will be responsible for Hotel Indigo Satu Mare’s operations.

IHG Hotels and Resorts Europe vice-president of development Willemijn Geels said: “This new signing marks the beginning of a new partnership in Romania. To have introduced another brand to this growing market is an exciting milestone and we are so proud to be redeveloping one of the country’s most iconic hotels.
