IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its portfolio in Saudi Arabia by signing a management agreement with Dana Bay Tourism Company for new InterContinental hotel.
InterContinental Al Khobar Dana Bay is slated to open in December 2024.
The new property will feature 133 rooms, 90 InterContinental residences, and 36 villas.
Other guest amenities will include a business centre, four meeting rooms, four dining venues, an indoor and outdoor pool, a health club, and a spa.
InterContinental Al Khobar Dana Bay will be located just 30km from the city centre and 45km from King Fahed International Airport.
IHG India, Middle East & Africa managing director Haitham Mattar said: “We are delighted to partner with Dana Bay Tourism Company to open InterContinental Al Khobar Dana Bay in Al Khobar City.
“The concept and quality of the master plan makes this an exciting new addition, not only to the Eastern Province but also to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
The signing of InterContinental Al Khobar Dana Bay is in line with IHG’s expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia.
Last month, IHG signed a management agreement with Al Ajlan Company for a new Intercontinental brand property in the Riyadh North area, Saudi Arabia.
Currently, IHG operates a network of 37 hotels across 5 brands in Saudi Arabia, with a further 31 in the development pipeline due.
Haitham Mattar added: “We are also honoured to expand our hotels further in Saudi Arabia to align with the country’s Tourism Development Strategy – Vision 2030.
“With 37 hotels operating across five of our core brands in Saudi Arabia, we look forward to welcoming guests to the newest addition to our portfolio, as it comes to life in the coming years.”
