The company said it will later extend the rollout to other markets while continuing to refine the service based on user behaviour and feedback.

The new search tool allows travellers to enter requests in everyday language rather than relying only on standard filters.

Users can search by destination, trip purpose, preferences and amenities. The system then provides hotel suggestions, along with interactive maps, live availability, pricing and property details.

Travellers can also view options using cash rates, points, or a mix of points and cash.

IHG said the recommendations are based on its verified hotel data and guest reviews, including photos and amenity information.

During the beta period, the company will continue to offer its existing search function alongside the AI-based option.

IHG said the rollout is also intended to help hotel owners improve how their properties appear in AI-led searches.

To support this, the company plans to introduce an AI-optimised hotel content platform over the coming months.

The platform is designed to make it easier for hotels to upload more detailed property information and improve how listings are surfaced in search.

IHG noted the system will support additional content formats, including floor plans, videos and updated images.

The launch follows the recent introduction of an IHG app in ChatGPT.

The company also working on further additions, including more personalised search features and agentic booking capabilities.

IHG Hotels & Resorts CEO Elie Maalouf said: “Launching conversational search in IHG’s digital channels transforms how guests interact with IHG and discover our incredible collection of hotels around the world.

“It’s a milestone that builds on years of strategic investment in our digital foundations, including the unification of our data in the cloud and the continued evolution of our best-in-class technology platforms.”
